Summary and plot of Hell's Abyss
Hell's Abyss expands on the idea of a more powerful Diablo, seen as a superior incarnation of the Lord of Terror. In this route, Diablo is not just a familiar Act IV boss but an image of evil reborn from ancient ambition and power.
Devil Diablo's appearance ties into the meta-lore feel of World Event: when power is manipulated too much, hell responds with a more dangerous form. Ancient artifacts, greed, and the desire for power become the spark that causes the darkness to return.
Devil Diablo symbolizes the constant rebirth of evil. Diablo may be defeated, but he is not truly dead; He always finds a way to come back stronger and more dangerous. Therefore, the Hell's Abyss route is built as a series of fortresses and gatekeeper bosses, leading players to the final battle in the abyss.
