in What is resistance?
In Diablo 2, Resistance, or Res for short, is the ability to minimize the damage your character receives from different types of damage. Resistance All: Includes Elements: Fire, Cold, Light, Poison, Magic and Physical.
I. Types of Resistance in Diablo2:
- Physical resistance: Minimizes physical damage from hand attacks, weapons and some skills.
- Fire resistance: Minimizes fire damage from attacks, traps, and skills.
- Light resistance: Minimizes lightning damage from attacks, traps, and skills.
- Cold resistance: Minimizes ice damage from attacks, traps, and skills.
- Poison resistance: Minimizes poison damage from attacks, traps, and skills.
II. How to increase Resistance in Diablo2
– Equipment: Most types of armor, helmets, gloves, rings and amulets can provide Resistance. Some items may provide high Resistance to a specific damage type, while other items provide Resistance to many different damage types (All Resistance).
– Skills: Some class skills can provide Resistance for yourself or your teammates.
– Charm: Some types of Charms, especially Grand Charms and Small Charms, can provide Resistance to one or more types of damage.
– Jewel: Some Jewels can be attached to the equipment Socket to provide Resistance to a specific type of damage.
– Passive: Some Passive Skills from equipment or classes can provide Resistance to one or more types of damage.
- Resistance is very important in Diablo 2, especially at higher levels where monsters deal more damage. Having enough Resistance can help you survive strong monsters on higher difficulty modes and complete easier expansion maps.
- Additionally, some classes in Diablo 2 have an advantage in Resistance over others. For example, Paladins typically have higher Resistance to fire damage ( Fire ), while Barbarians typically have higher Resistance to physical damage ( Physic ).
III. Character's maximum Resistance stat
- Initial Res index: 75% (Residual Res index will be infinite).
- Maximum Res: 95% when the player carries equipment with the Maximun Resistance line. Therefore, a character can never be completely immune to Res-only attacks.
- For monsters, it is different, monsters can surpass the 100% Res threshold and become immu res - immune to that damage.
- There are two ways to reduce the Res index: using Aura Conviction or Curse Lower Resit. As for break immu, there is only Aura Conviction.
Note:
- When you have 300 Res Fire without the Maximum Option, you only own the character's 75% Res. Therefore, you must own an Item with the Maximum Res Element index to give Resistance yours reaches the maximum threshold.
- Even if you have 300 Res to spare, don't think it's excess. Because when you encounter Monsters that can reduce Res, there is no problem because you own up to 300 Res and will not worry about it being reduced to negative levels.
- Additionally, you can - Monster Res sounds.
Below is the maximum list of Resistant:
- Resistance Fire: 95%
- Resistance Cold: 95%
- Resistance Light: 95%
- Resistance Poison: 95%
- Resistance Magic : 80%
- Resistance Physical : 50%
